This Monday, we listened to a lecture on the landscape. The speaker named Hu Bing. He is a famous Chinese landscape architecture expert.
He said the first point is china and foreign the garden’s explanation. Chinese people believe that the word Park represent the Wall and the fence. Foreign people believe that the words Park are plants, three stone, and the water has done a beautiful design of the living room space.
Second, he introduced the Chinese garden is divided into the main types of Royal Garden (Summer Palace), Private gardens (SuZhou gardens), Temple Gardens and Scenic Garden.
He introduced the SuZhou Gardens. SuZhou gardens are old Urban Forest and the other name of it is human landscape garden. Is also a typical of search quiet from noise? Is a live history and culture, people can enter the landscape Painting. It is a treasure of art. SuZhou garden’s art features is divide watershed Hill. We can visit it and from today to find yesterday ,because it include a lot of ancient culture and it can represent our old architecture history .We can find different dynasty’s Painting, we can also feel the poetry. Most of people think the SuZhou gardens are peaceful and nature. It gives us a vacant realm of art.
He also told us some information about the earliest garden form, in china they were court and caught. The caught was used to keep the livestock. The court was in dynasty and Han dynasty’s palace.
Chinese garden art and literature of Chinese painting and art history, especially by the Tang and Song literati landscape painting freehand brushwork, is the author of freehand landscape simulation model. In order to look beautiful, they think about layout, water with hills, the plants backed and levels. It’s very complex and detailed work, so it almost no same garden .Each garden are all the only, they may represent different culture and history, even the character of the artists.
I think this lecture on the landscape led me know what is the garden and some information about the Garden Art. I learn all the design must follow the principle of science and aesthetics.
