Relifion Service
I went to Sheng Paulo church with Alice and Peter in May 3rd. It started at 7:15,because today is Sunday. Although it’s holiday, there were many people went there.
When we walk into the church, we heard a beautiful song. I saw many people sit inside, most of them are old. Stuff told us if you don’t have a book, you can borrow it from the back. We found everyone have a book, they were singing follow the pastor. There have a cross in the front, everyone can saw it. The pastor also read the scriptures to us, and then we should read after him.
These pastors wore a white robe, and they stand one the stage. Almost everyone can saw them. Church is a place which is very seriously, so everyone should dress neat. We should keep the hall cleaning, and keep quiet.

Volunteer Experience
In March 21st, I went to Nanjing Children’s Welfare Institute with Maggie, Alice, John, Joanne and Peter. We did 4 hours volunteer work; this is my first volunteer work in this semester. The second volunteer work I did in this semester is the scorekeeper for GCA Badminton play.
The day we went to the Children’s Welfare was raining, so we didn’t see the children play outside. Firstly, we came into registration office. We gave the staff something which we want to donated, and recorded our names. Then a woman took us into a building which these orphans live in. In the second floor, we saw many children under the age of five. Except one girl, the woman says she has tended of mental disease. We found she was particularly excited, she kept knock the glass windows. She kept knocking toys, but she has two beautiful eyes. Other children were quieter than her; they just play with them selves. I found one boy just sat on the mat, didn’t move for a long time. The woman says he doesn’t have his knees, so he always just sits. I also saw a boy tied up beside a bed, because his legs have some problems he couldn’t stand up by himself.
Secondly, we saw many children under the age of 3 in the third floor. Most of them couldn’t walk by themselves; there have many workers take care of them. Some of them are healthy; we couldn’t imagine why their parent abandoned them. In the fourth floor, we saw many babies. The woman says they almost under the age of one. She took us into a room, which have many babies are disabled. We say some babies need surgery, but there were not have enough money. They need more people to help them.
After visit there, we play with these children. The woman told us if you want to help one child, you can donate the money only 600 RMB each year. Another choice is you can donate 50 RMB every month. It’s not very expensive, but this money can help them. I also found some students from other schools went there play with these children. These children need more care from community, people shouldn’t contempt them.
I think if a person can use less money, such as less to buy a CD or just less to buy some beverages and less to buy a magazine. If they could do tit, they can at least surgery two children. I think it is not very difficult, but this money even can change a child’s whole life. I learned a person must have social responsibility, and some compassion. I think people who did these works should have a good understanding about children. They might have some experience about how to take care of children; it is not an easy job. They might after a strictly training, because most of these children are disabled. They need more care than a normal healthy child. It’s a valuable experience for me.

Act in a Performance
Our dancing club act in a performance in March 7th, 2009. I am also a member of dancing club.
In March 7th,
We were ready for a long time; we even use the lunch time to practice. Sometimes we feel tired, but we were not giving up easily. When heard this performance by the end of February. We only have two weeks to prepare, so we went to rehearsal everyday. We were not only practice the action, we also need to practice dance with each other.
When we can dance with each other, the teacher told us we should dance without look at the mirror. This is another difficult task for us; it means we must dance with the feeling. The selection of clothing is also very important, because we are a group. So we must wear unity.
I learned how to work with others, and if we want to be successes, we must fully prepare. No pay, no gain. If we could do everything more careful and prepare more fully, we will reduce the errors.
Participate in a Service Activity organized by GCA teacher
In April 11th, I went to school make food with some students and teachers. Our group should make applesauce, it’s not very difficult.
At the beginning, our leader led us buy some apples and a melon. Then we wash all the fruits and knives. The knives were not sharp, so we couldn’t peel the apple. We cut them to small pieces, and put them into pot. We open stove and added some water, but nothing happened. This is a big problem, because this pot is made of aluminum. We must find an iron port, but how can we find it?
Finally, one person found it in the canteens. It is a huge iron pot, but we can start now. When the water starts boiling, we also added some cinnamon. It isn’t looks nice, but it smelled very well. When the apple became a little bit transparent, we use spoons to crush them. We think it shouldn’t called “applesauce”, it should called “apple porridge”. Although we met many problems, we have completed it. Then we also need clean up the whole class, I felt very tired but it’s also interesting.
